Position Available: Associate Pastor of Outreach and Community Life

  Our Church

Quinte Alliance Church (QAC) is a member church of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada. We are located in Belleville, Ontario - a city of 55,000 people, located on the shores of Lake Ontario halfway between Toronto and Ottawa.  We have approximately 130 members and adherents.  For more information, please find us at www.quintealliancechurch.ca.

  Position Mandate

In line with our denomination’s stated goals to multiply disciples everywhere and to “double our reach” over the next 10 years, the Associate Pastor of Outreach and Community Life will develop and oversee our efforts to build effective discipleship-making connections with young unchurched families in the Quinte Region.

  Key Responsibilities

Outreach (45%)

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for QAC that prioritizes the building of Christ-centred connections with unchurched individuals throughout the Quinte region.
    • A key focus of this strategy should be on 25-40 year-olds and their families.
  • Collaborate with local church & district staff to prayerfully discern needs and new methods that will serve to build a healthy church.
  • Help shape a culture of missional living among our current members and regular attenders.
  • Identify, inspire, and equip teams of spirit-empowered volunteers that can help pursue the strategic plan.
  • Cultivate and nurture good relationships and partnerships with local ministries and community leaders that will help us pursue our mission in practical and loving ways.
  • Prepare, submit for approval, and then manage, an annual budget for outreach ministries

Community Life (40%)

  • Develop and implement a strategy to help connect people at a deeper level with the people and mission of QAC.  This strategy should include: first time visitors, new attendees, adherents, and members.
  • Help recruit, train, organize, and oversee the effective leadership of:
    • A Connections ministry such that newcomers are warmly and winsomely welcomed into the fellowship of the church, and
    • A Next-Gen ministry to children and youth 18 years-old and under.
      • It must be understood that prioritizing a demographic that includes parents of school-aged children, will necessitate careful attention to the ongoing spiritual needs of their children.

General Responsibilities (15%)

  • The Pastor of Outreach and Community Life will also share in general pastoral duties as required and in consultation with the Lead Pastor.  Dependent upon gifting, these duties may include preaching, visitation, supporting our Global Missions Team, counseling, weddings, funerals, etc.
